Regarding the conduct of a republican referendum on 6 October 2024

In accordance with subparagraph 10 of Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Article 18 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Republican Referendum” I DECLARE:

1. To conduct a republican referendum on 6 October 2024.

2. To submit the following question to the republican referendum: "Do you agree to the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan?”.

3. To publish officially this Decree in the media on 3 September 2024.

4. To entrust the organization and conduct of the republican referendum to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which shall perform the functions of the Central Referendum Commission, as well as to territorial and precinct election commissions, which shall perform the functions of territorial and precinct referendum commissions.

5. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other central state and local executive bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall take necessary measures on organization and conduct of the republican referendum.

6. This Decree shall come into effect from the day of its signing.
