CEC REGISTED THE PARTY LIST OF THE

 NATIONWIDE SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The fourth meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chaired by Nurlan Abdirov, was held today as part of the election campaign for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In accordance with the agenda, the Commission considered the registration of the party list submitted by the Republican Public Association ‘Nationwide Social Democratic Party’ for the election of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for 23 August 2026.

Opening the meeting, CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov noted that the Central Election Commission had admitted seven political parties to participate in the election of deputies of the Kurultai. He also recalled that, on 9 July of this year, the Nationwide Social Democratic Party had submitted documents to the CEC concerning the nomination of its party list. In accordance with electoral legislation, the Central Election Commission carried out the procedures required to determine whether the candidates met the requirements established by the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections.

Presenting his report on the agenda item, CEC member Mikhail Bortnik emphasised that, under Article 89 of the Constitutional Law on Elections, only one list from each political party may be registered. At the same time, the combined number of representatives belonging to three categories - women, young people and persons with disabilities - must account for at least 30 per cent of the party list.

“The party list of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party comprises 33 individuals, 14 of whom are women, young people and persons with disabilities, collectively accounting for more than 30 per cent of the list. The statutory quota has been met. The Central Election Commission, jointly with the authorized state bodies, verified the candidates. As a result of this work, all individuals included in the party list were found to comply with the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections,” Mikhail Bortnik noted.

The CEC member also reminded the participants that the Nationwide Social Democratic Party had received more than 5 per cent of the vote in the election of deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament held on 19 March 2023. Accordingly, under the law, the party is exempt from paying the electoral deposit.

Following the signing of the relevant protocols by the CEC members, a resolution was adopted on the registration of the party list of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for 23 August 2026. The registered candidates received the relevant certificates.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the party leadership answered questions from media representatives during the customary briefing.
