CEC REGISTED THE PARTY LIST OF THE KAZAKHSTAN GREEN PARTY "BAITAQ"
Today, under the chairmanship of Nurlan Abdirov, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan held its seventh meeting in Astana as part of the election campaign for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Public Association “Kazakhstan Green Party ‘Baitaq’”, international observers from the OSCE ODIHR, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministries of Finance, Internal Affairs, and Justice, as well as representatives of the media. In addition, chairpersons and members of territorial election commissions from the capital, the regions, and the cities of republican significance participated via videoconference.
In accordance with the agenda, the Commission considered the registration of the party list submitted by the Public Association Public Association “Kazakhstan Green Party ‘Baitaq’” for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for August 23, 2026.
Presenting the report, CEC member Azamat Aimanakumov outlined the documents submitted by the party to the Central Election Commission and the work carried out by the Commission to verify the candidates.
"The public association Public Association “Kazakhstan Green Party ‘Baitaq’” submitted a party list consisting of 47 candidates. Verification of the candidates for deputies of the Kurultai was conducted to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections, based on information provided by the authorized state bodies in response to requests from the Central Election Commission. The party list includes 18 candidates who are women, young people, or persons with disabilities, representing a combined total of 38.3 percent. The quota established by law has therefore been met. All individuals included in the party list comply with the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections," - Azamat Aimanakumov emphasized.
The CEC member also reminded participants that, in accordance with Article 88 of the Constitutional Law on Elections, a political party that received between 1 and 3 percent of the votes cast in the previous elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament is required to pay only 70 percent of the standard election deposit. Since the Kazakhstan Green Party "Baitaq" received 2.3 percent of the vote in the elections to the eighth convocation of the Mazhilis, it paid the election deposit in the corresponding reduced amount.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the members of the Central Election Commission signed the relevant protocols and adopted a resolution registering the party list of the Kazakhstan Green Party "Baitaq" for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for August 23, 2026. The registered candidates were presented with their official certificates.
Following the meeting, the party leadership answered questions from media representatives during the traditional press briefing.
