CEC Registed the Party List of the People's Party of Kazakhstan
Today, members of the Central Election Commission considered the registration of the party list submitted by the Public Association “People's Party of Kazakhstan” for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for August 23, 2026.
It was noted that on July 9, the People's Party of Kazakhstan submitted the required documents to the Central Election Commission for the nomination of its party list. In accordance with the election legislation, the CEC conducted the procedures necessary to verify that the candidates meet the requirements established by the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections.
Presenting the agenda item, CEC member Assel Zhanabilova outlined the legal requirements for candidates. In particular, a candidate must be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, have permanently resided in the country for the past 10 years, and be at least 25 years of age.
"The People's Party of Kazakhstan submitted a party list consisting of 72 candidates. Thirty of them are women, young people, and persons with disabilities, representing 41.7 percent of the total list. The quota established by law has therefore been met. In accordance with requests sent by the Central Election Commission to the authorized state bodies, verification was conducted to ensure that all individuals included in the party list comply with the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections. All candidates included in the party list meet the established legal requirements," - Assel Zhanabilova concluded.
Assel Zhanabilova also reminded participants that the People's Party of Kazakhstan received more than 5 percent of the vote in the elections to the Mazhilis of Parliament held on March 19, 2023. Accordingly, under the law, the party is exempt from paying the election deposit.
After the members of the Central Election Commission signed the relevant protocols, the Commission adopted a resolution to register the party list of the People’s Party of Kazakhstan for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for 23 August 2026. The registered candidates were issued their official certificates.
Following the meeting, the party leadership answered questions from media representatives during the traditional press briefing.
