On 25 September the accreditation of observers of foreign states and international organizations at election of deputies of the Senate of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, called on 1 October 2014, has been completed.
The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan by submission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has accredited 166 observers of foreign states and international organizations.
114 observers from 3 international organizations and 8 CIS participating states, including observers from the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (CIS IPA), which includes 27 observers from 6 CIS participating states, and an group of observers from Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, which is composed of 4 observers, including 1 from the Republic of Belarus and 3 from Russian Federation, have been accredited in the composition of the Mission of observers from the Commonwealth of Independents States (CIS).
The CEC has accredited 9 observers from 6 SCO member-states in the composition of the Mission of observers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
In addition 43 observers from 25 foreign states have been accredited.
As on 25 September 2014 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has accredited 110 representatives of foreign mass media.
Thus, 276 observers of foreign states, international organizations, representatives of foreign mass media will take part in observation of the forthcoming election of deputies of the Senate of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is more than in 2008 and 2011. This fact demonstrates the increased interest to this political event.
The CEC has issued to all accredited observers the certificates of the established sample, which provide them the authority to carry out their activities during election campaign.
According to the election legislation observers of foreign states and international organizations, representatives of foreign mass media are eligible to monitor all stages of electoral process, to receive information on the electoral campaign in the election commissions, to meet stakeholders of electoral process, etc.
They are obliged to hold the documents, certifying their identification and accreditation, and to respect requirements of election legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
