On December 12, 2011, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan accredited first observers from foreign states and international organizations for the election of deputies of Mazhilis of the Parliament and maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In particular, 31 observers were accredited on presentation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
30 of them are representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Mission, including 16 members of the Core Team and 14 long-term observers.
Another one is the representative of the CIS Observation Mission. As of 12 December 2011, the number of nominated candidates for deputies of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 6275.
Of these, 711 candidates to oblast maslikhats and of Astana and Almaty; 4395 candidates to district maslikhats; 1169 candidates to city maslikhats.
The nomination of candidates ends on 14 December.
At the moment, there are 1074 candidates for deputies of maslikhats who were registered.
The registration of candidates for deputies of maslikhats will last till 20 December.
