The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UN Development Programme in Kazakhstan conducted training for the strengthening professional level of election commissions’ members, representatives of courts and the mass media.
The trainings on the topics «The organizational aspects of the electoral process and information support of elections in the media», «The legal framework of electoral process in the Republic of Kazakhstan» were conducted on February 12 – 13, 2009 in the city of Shymkent.
These trainings were organized by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the UNDP office in Kazakhstan within the framework of the joint project «Technical Assistance to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan».
Members of South-Kazakhstan oblast territorial election commission, representatives of district election commissions, oblast court, courts of rayons and city of Shymkent, the media were invited to take part in the training.
Participants considered the issues of co-ordination of joint actions by the territorial election commissions, state bodies and electoral process participants to ensure compliance with the norms of the electoral legislation at all stages of the election campaign.
In the course of training there was exchange of issues directly related to the organization of work and interaction between participants of the electoral process and electіon commissions of South-Kazakhstan oblast, the legislative changes in the electoral process in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
