On June 6, 2019, Central Election Commission held training workshops for observers from republican public associations

On June 6, 2019, the employees of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and certified electoral trainers conducted two training workshops for 120 representatives of the Akzhol Democratic Party and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, who will observe the voting process at the polling stations on voting day - June 9 of this year. 50 representatives of regional branches of the Akzhol Party participated in the events in the format of videoconferencing.

The events were organized at the request of republican public associations within the framework of the CEC initiative to facilitate the training of observers of public associations and political parties for the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and this initiative was announced by CEC Secretary S. Mustafina on April 15 this year.

The participants of the training workshops were familiarized with the fundamentals of the election legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the rights and duties, and the rules of procedure of observers exercising public control over the election campaign.

In general, the audience was prepared well, and the participants were interested in practical questions on the specifics of organizing and holding presidential elections and received exhaustive answers.

In addition, during the workshops, typical situations that could potentially arise at polling stations were considered. The future observers received explanations on how to respond to each of them in accordance with the law.

The workshops were held in an atmosphere of constructive interaction, based on the general understanding of the responsibility, importance and relevance of independent public observers for the civil society of Kazakhstan.
