Deputy Chair of the CEC K. Petrov addressed the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On March 4, 2020, Konstantin Petrov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, gave a lecture on “Information and Communication Technologies in the Electoral Process” at the Institute of Professional Development of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The training was a part of the seminar named “Optimization of Business Processes. Digital Innovations in Public Administration”, organized for heads of central and local authorities in charge of making sure modern information technologies are fed into the management process.
In his speech, the lecturer provided an insight into the role and importance of why digital technologies need to be a part of the electoral process in order to increase the level of citizens' trust, as well as to ensure international principles and standards are followed in exercising electoral rights when an electronic voting system is used.
The lecturer focused on electronic services being provided to citizens in having electoral rights exercised by automating the process of voter inclusion in the register and obtaining information about a polling station.
Opinions were exchanged at the end of the training.
