Registration of the deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan elected on August 12, 2020
On August 28, 2020 there was held a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan related to the registration of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan elected on August 12, 2020.
The meeting was attended by the elected deputies of the Senate of the Parliament, a member of the Council of Senators – Mr. Kuanysh Aytakhanov, territorial election commissions of regions and the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent in the videoconferencing regime, as well as media representatives who participated online.
While opening the meeting the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Mr. Berik Imashev, has noted that the final meeting of the campaign for the election of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament is taking place on the eve of a significant date - the 25th anniversary of the Constitution - the Principal Law of independent Kazakhstan.
A member of the Central Election Commission, Mr. Serik Sydykov, made a report "On the registration of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan elected on August 12, 2020".
He informed that in accordance with the Constitutional Act "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan" the Central Election Commission, in the manner prescribed by the Constitutional Act, registers the elected deputies of Parliament. The Central Election Commission presents each deputy with a certificate and a badge of the established sample.
In this regard there was adopted the Resolution "On registration of the deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan elected on August 12, 2020".
After the adoption of the Resolution, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Mr. Berik Imashev, presented certificates and badges to the registered deputies.
In accordance with the paragraph 1 of the Article 24 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the status of its deputies", the powers of a deputy of Parliament begin from the moment the Central Election Commission registers him/her as a deputy of Parliament.
