The results of the Online Academic Competition

“Electoral systems of the countries of the world”

among students of Kazakhstan universities are summed up

On September 30 of the current year there was held the second round of the Online Academic Competition "Electoral systems of the countries of the world" among students of Kazakhstan universities - the "Best Debater" competition.

The participants were 10 students from 6 universities of the country who scored the highest number of points based on the results of online testing in the first round of the competition.

In the second round students demonstrated their debating skills to the members of the National Jury, the debates topics were on such topical issues as the advantages and disadvantages of the functioning of a bicameral parliament in a unitary state, the principles of forming election commissions and voters lists, voting using the Internet and postal services.

The jury evaluated the content and form of material delivery in the participants’ speeches in accordance with the criteria developed with the assistance of experts and psychologists. At the same time, there were noted high intellectual potential, deep analysis skills, argumentation, and consistency of speeches on electoral topics.

The results of the second round of the Online Academic Competition

By the decision of the National jury of the Online Academic Competition "Electoral systems of the countries of the world” among students of Kazakhstan universities:

- BORANGAZY AYGERIM YERNARKYZY – student of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi (Almaty) was chosen as the winner;

- NURGALI ZHANIBEK MESHQAT-SHARIPULY – student of the Caspian Public University (Almaty) was chosen as the first prize-winner;

- ZAYEVA ASSEM KANATOVNA – student of the KazGUU University after M.S. Narikbayev (Nur-Sultan) was chosen as the second prize-winner.
