On 28 October 2020, online workshop was held for representatives of regional and city departments of internal policy at the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Social Development.

Anastassiya Shchegortsova, member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reported on the procedure for conducting pre-election campaigning during the election of deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament and Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In particular, she informed the participants of the workshop about the norms of electoral legislation concerning organization of media activities during the electoral period, the procedure and conditions for the implementation of the election campaign of parties and candidates through the media, and focused on the basic principles of coverage of the election campaign.

A. Shchegortsova also noted that the editorial offices of the media shall ensure objective coverage of the election campaign of parties and candidates to provide them with equal access to the media.
