Member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan S.Sydykov took part in the 17th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies
On 12-13 November 2020, in Strasbourg (French Republic), the 17th European Conference of Election Management Bodies was held online on the theme "Electoral Law and Electoral Management in Europe - Common Problems and Best Practices".
Serik Sydykov, member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the conference.
The event was organized by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
The conference covered common challenges and best practices in electoral management, conditions for elections in emergencies, practical implications of elections during pandemic and crisis situations, and international standards for alternative voting methods.
The conference was attended by such international organizations as the Council of Europe, the Venice Commission, the OSCE/ODIHR, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, as well as representatives of the authorities responsible for organizing elections from Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Sweden, Slovakia, Estonia and others.
Conferences on various aspects and stages of the electoral process are being held annually by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe together with the central electoral bodies of European states, in which the Republic of Kazakhstan takes an active part.
