Meeting of the Central Election Commission on the results of nomination and registration of party lists of candidates for deputies of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On December 11 this year, a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held, where representatives of political parties took part, territorial election commissions in the videoconferencing mode, and representatives of the media - online.

The meeting considered the issue "On the results of nomination and registration of party lists of candidates for deputies of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

Yerlan Dauylbayev, member of the Central Election Commission, made a report on the agenda. He informed that for the first time elections to the maslikhat are being held on the party lists of political parties. Territorial election commissions ensure organization and conduct of elections of deputies of maslikhats.

In accordance with the Standard Timetable of the main activities for preparation and conduct of the regular elections of deputies of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan, nomination of party lists took place from November 10 to December 4, 2020.

The Central Election Commission admitted 6 political parties registered in the established manner at the Ministry of Justice to participate in the regular elections of deputies of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 10, 2021.

Documents on nomination of party lists of candidates for deputies of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 5 political parties - "Auyl" People's Democratic Patriotic Party; Nur Otan Party; "ADAL" Political Party; "Ak Zhol" Democratic Party of Kazakhstan; "People's Party of Kazakhstan" were provided to election commissions.

A total of 840 party lists were provided.

At the same time, the Nur Otan Party and the ADAL Political Party presented lists by constituencies in all 216 maslikhats of the regions.

• “Ak Zhol” Democratic Party of Kazakhstan provided 175 lists.

• "Auyl" People's Democratic Patriotic Party - 159 lists.

• "People's Party of Kazakhstan" - 74 lists.

In 17 districts, 75 lists (1392 candidates) were submitted to maslikhats of regions, cities of republican significance and the capital.

In 36 districts 134 lists (1415 candidates) were submitted to maslikhats of cities of regional significance.

631 lists (5527 candidates) were submitted in 163 districts of maslikhats of districts.

Party lists include 8,334 candidates, including 3,721 (44.6%) - women and persons under 29 years of age.

Registration of party lists closed at 18:00 local time on December 10, 2020. A total of 832 party lists were registered, including:

• "Auyl" People's Democratic Patriotic Party - 158;

• Nur Otan Party - 216;

• "ADAL" Political Party - 215;

• “Ak Zhol” Democratic Party of Kazakhstan - 174;

• People's Party of Kazakhstan - 69.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Berik Imashev stressed that preparation and conduct of elections of deputies of maslikhats is exclusively within the competence of territorial election commissions. In this regard, the territorial election commissions, as the main holders of information, were instructed to carry out extensive information work to highlight the results of the nomination and registration of party lists, to hold briefings for the media.
