Chairman of the Central Election Commission met with
the head of the CIS Observer Mission
On January 9, 2021, meeting of Chairman of the Central Election Commission B. Imashev with Head of the CIS Observer Mission V. Bondarev was held at the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the meeting, CEC Chairman Berik Imashev acquainted the members of the CIS Observer Mission with the preparation process for the regular elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament and Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 10, 2021.
The head of the CIS Observer Mission briefly informed that the Mission has 234 observers. They represent the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Viktor Bondarev noted that these elections will contribute to greater consistency and stability in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the economic crisis and the global pandemic of coronavirus infection, Kazakhstan needs a parliament that will be able to maintain the strength of the state structure of the country.
At the end of the meeting, briefing for media representatives was held.
