CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the work of the International Round Table 

On March 31, 2021, an international round table was held on the topic - "Referendums in the CIS IPA Member States: Legal Regulation and International Observation", organized jointly with International Institute for Monitoring Development of Democracy, Parliamentarism and Observance of Electoral Rights of Citizens of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Member States and the Central Commission on elections and referendums of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Anastassiya Schegortsova, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the work of the International Round Table.

During the round table, issues related to international standards, legal regulation and organizational support of the referendum, international observation of the conduct of referendums, taking into account the practice of the countries participating in the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly were discussed.

The round table was also attended by representatives of parliaments, electoral bodies, experts from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Armenia, and the Republic of Moldova.

In conclusion, participants of the round table discussed and adopted the draft final Resolution as a basis in which they deemed it advisable to further improve legislation governing the procedure for preparation and conduct of referendums.
