Seminar-meeting "On the organization and conduct of direct elections of akims of cities of district significance, villages, townships, rural districts" 

May 25 this year The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev signed the Constitutional Act "On Amendments and Supplements to the Constitutional Act" On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan and other legislative acts on election issues.

Today a seminar-meeting "On the organization and conduct of direct elections of akims of cities of regional significance, villages, townships, rural districts" was held in the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.The seminar was attended by representatives of territorial election commissions and local executive bodies.

During the seminar-meeting legal and organizational aspects of holding direct elections of akims, issues of organizing training for participants in the electoral process, financing the campaign, ensuring the electoral rights of persons with disabilities, as well as issue of information support for the activities of election commissions were considered. The issues were discussed, bearing in mind the amendments and supplements to the legislation related to the elections of akims of the rural level.

During the event, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Berik Imashev noted that the electoral system, central governmental and local executive bodies involved in the organization of elections face a large-scale task. They need to ensure that elections are held in accordance with law and strict observance of electoral procedures. He stressed that this makes special demands on the competence of members of election commissions at all levels and coherence of their work.

The seminar was held in full compliance with the established sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
