Representatives of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan participate in the A-WEB training program

From April 20 to April 29, 2022, representatives of the electoral sphere of the republic took part in the 1st stage of the Election Management Capacity Building Program: "Enhancing Transparency in Political Finance", organized by the World Association of Electoral Bodies (A-WEB) under the auspices of the Government of the Republic Korea. The training course aims to improve the professional level of electoral staff and explore ways to solve problems related to the disclosure of political financing and legal education.

The training program is aimed at developing strategies and algorithms for planning and implementing financial reporting activities and is also designed to promote disclosure of financial reporting for efficiency and transparency in the electoral process, taking into account the context of foreign experience in a number of states. At the first stage, participants got acquainted with legislation and practice of financing elections and financing political parties in a number of countries such as South Korea, Republic of Lithuania, Maldives, Republic of Moldova and also studied the main financial methods and tools necessary to improve the efficiency of political finance reports.

The program was attended by representatives of the electoral bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Maldives.

The second phase will take place on September 21-30, 2022 during which participants will be given the opportunity to review and discuss activities of law enforcement agencies and ways to verify reports as part of increasing transparency of political finance.
