On May 12, 2022, the Central Referendum Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a training workshop for representatives of public associations on the preparation and conduct of the republican referendum

On May 12, 2022, the Central Referendum Commission together with the Ministry of Information and Social Development held an online training workshop for representatives of public associations. The event was attended by 300 people.

During the event, clarifications were given on the subject of the republican referendum scheduled for June 5, 2022, the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the features of the process of preparing and holding, financing the republican referendum, campaigning, organising electoral education, observation for voting, as well as responsibility for violating the legislation on the referendum.

The speakers of the workshop from the Central Referendum Commission were Deputy Chairman of the CRC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Konstantin Petrov, members of the CRC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sabila Mustafina, Anastassiya Shchegortsova and Assylbek Smagulov.

Vice Minister of Justice Aigul Mukanova, Vice Minister of Information and Social Development Daniyar Kadirov, Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor General Azamat Sargazin, Deputy Chairman of the Information Committee of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanybek Zhumashev also spoke at the workshop.

Following the results of the workshop, members of the Central Referendum Commission and representatives of authorised state bodies gave exhaustive answers to the questions of the workshop participants.

As part of the electoral education, the next workshop of the Central Referendum Commission will be organised for heads of the media on May 13, 2022.
