On May 20, working trips of CRC Deputy Chairman K. Petrov to the Aktobe region and CRC Member S. Mustafina to the Akmola region took place
On May 20, 2022, a working trip of Deputy Chairman of the Central Referendum Commission Konstantin Petrov to the Aktobe region took place.
Konstantin Petrov held a workshop-meeting with the participation of representatives of state bodies, members of territorial referendum commissions, representatives of the media and public associations. The purpose of the workshop-meeting was to explain the legal foundations for organising and holding a republican referendum.
As part of the trip, a training workshop was organised with members of the territorial and precinct referendum commissions of the Aktobe region. Konstantin Petrov got acquainted with the course of the planned work of the precinct referendum commissions in Aktobe, including the issues of updating the lists of citizens, additional measures to equip the polling stations to ensure their accessibility to persons with disabilities.
As a result of these meetings, proposals were formulated to improve the work of precinct referendum commissions.
The discussion of these issues is also planned at a workshop with members of the district and precinct referendum commissions of the Khromtau district, which will be held on May 21 this year.
The same day, Sabila Mustafina, a member of the Central Referendum Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a working trip to the Akmola region in order to get acquainted with the work of precinct referendum commissions.
A workshop-meeting was held in the Shortandy district with the participation of the district akim, the district prosecutor, the head of the internal policy department, heads of district police departments, the justice department, members of the territorial district commission, chairmen and secretaries of precinct referendum commissions.
During the conducted training, members of the commissions were trained using practice-oriented methods. Professional competencies were worked out in the form of the “Voting Day” business game.
Saken Yergaliyev, chairman of the territorial referendum commission of the Shortandy district, shared his experience in preparing and holding of the referendum, who, as chairman of the same district commission, participated in organising the first republican referendum in 1995. For about 30 years S. Yergaliyev dedicated himself to work in the electoral system and personnel training.
Sabila Mustafina also studied the readiness for the referendum of the precinct commissions of the Birzhan sal district and the Bulandy district. On May 21 this year an inspection trip to the Shchuchinsk district is planned.
