On May 26-27 this year, a trip of Assylbek Smagulov, member of the Central Referendum Commission, to the Kyzylorda region took place

On May 26-27 this year, a trip of member of the Central Referendum Commission Assylbek Smagulov to the Kyzylorda region took place. The purpose of the two-day working visit was to check the readiness of the region to hold a referendum.

On the first day of the trip, a workshop-meeting was held with the participation of the head of the administration of the regional akim, heads of the department of justice, representatives of the Department of National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the prosecutor’s office of the region, NGOs, members of referendum commissions, during which reports on the following topics were provided:

1. On the course of work of local executive bodies on holding a referendum;

2. Algorithm of actions upon receipt of anonymous information, detection of suspicious items of a terrorist nature;

3. Peculiarities of the organisation of the referendum day and the activities of the referendum commission at the polling stations;

4. On the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan”;

5. Responsibility for violations of the legislation on the republican referendum;

6. On the accreditation of representatives of the mass media during the period of campaigning and on voting day.

Further, the member of the commission checked the readiness of polling stations No. 222, 263, 264 of Kyzylorda for voting in terms of equipment in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation, creation of conditions for ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities, provision of the necessary methodological and information materials, for the quality of work of members of the precinct referendum commissions with lists of citizens who have the right to vote in a referendum.

The readiness of polling stations No. 273 of Balabi village, No. 288 of Shieliy village, Shieli district, No. 312 of Birlik village, No. 340 of Zhanakorgan village, Zhanakorgan region was checked.

On the second day of the visit, a trip to the Syrdarya, Zhalagash, Karmakshy, Kazalinsk, Aral regions is planned.
