Meeting between the Chairman of the Central Referendum Commission and the Head of the CIS Observer Mission was held

On June 1, 2022, Chairman of the Central Referendum Commission Nurlan Abdirov met with the Head of the CIS Observer Mission Leonid Anfimov.

The meeting was attended by Mukhtar Erman, Secretary of the CCR, as well as Oleg Kuleba, Head of the Headquarters of the CIS Observer Mission.

Nurlan Abdirov welcomed the Head of the CIS Observer Mission, who recently arrived in Nur-Sultan city, and briefly introduced the main stages of preparation and conduct of the referendum.

Leonid Anfimov said that the Mission started its work on May 21, 2022 and bases its activities on the principles of political neutrality, noninterference in the referendum and the internal affairs of the state, in strict accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The CIS Observer Mission comprised 144 observers representing the CIS member states, the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO, and the CIS Executive Committee.
