Training course for election organizers "Electoral process in the Republic of Kazakhstan: theory and practice"
From June 13 to 15 the training course "Electoral process in the Republic of Kazakhstan: theory and practice" was held for 60 heads of territorial election commissions of regions, cities of republican value and the capital, cities, districts and city districts.
The event was organized by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Electoral Training Center of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main purpose of the training is to increase the level of professional competencies of election organizers by expanding the theoretical and applied knowledge of electoral legislation and practice of its application in the electoral process.
On the first day of the training (June 13), the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Abdirov N.M., as well as representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan, Institute of Economic Research, and professors of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan delivered guest lectures to the participants. At the end of the day, the participants were trained in the development of managerial decision-making skills.
On the second day (June 14) members and workers of the Central Election Commission informed the students about organizational and legal aspects of preparing and holding election campaigns in Kazakhstan, about the system of training of election organizers, financing of election campaigns, principles and standards of interaction with other participants of the electoral process: mass media, observers, political parties and others.
The final day of the course, June 15, was devoted to improving the "soft" skills of election organizers and was held in the format of analysis of practical cases from election practices, training sessions on conflict management and effective communication. At the end of the day, each participant was given a certificate of completion.
In general, the program of the training course for election organizers consisted of three blocks:
1. pre-module, which participants mastered in a remote format before the start of offline training.
2. offline module participants were trained from 13 to 15 June on the basis of the Electoral Training Center of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Both traditional forms (guest lectures, group work, brainstorming) and modern tools of active learning (case studies, behavioral modeling, role plays, etc.) were used in the training.
3. post-module - according to the results of the offline module for 2 weeks the participants will continue to receive post-training support on the issues of interest to the electoral law and process.
