ANNOUNCEMENT

To the media, users of online platforms on the provision of airtime and 

print space to candidates for members of the Mazhilis of the Parliament and 

maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan

No later than February 14, 2023, the media, users of online platforms shall publish and provide information on the amount of payment, conditions and procedure for providing airtime and print space (paragraph 3, article 28 of the Constitutional Act of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan”) for the publication of campaign materials of candidates:

- to the Mazhilis members to the Parliament on party lists to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- to the Mazhilis members to the Parliament in single-mandate territorial constituencies to the territorial election commissions of regions, Astana, Almaty and Shymkent;

- to the maslikhat members to the territorial election commissions of regions, Astana, Almaty and Shymkent.

In accordance with Part 5 of Article 112 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, the publication or broadcast of campaign materials of candidates, political parties participating in elections by the media, which, no later than five days before the start of the election campaign, did not announce or publish, as well as did not submit to the election commission information on the amount of payment, conditions and procedure for the provision of airtime and print space shall entail a fine for officials in the amount of thirty monthly calculation indices, for legal entities – fifty monthly calculation indices.
