On the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the CEC
of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Central Commission on Elections and
Referendums of Tajikistan
From 22 to 23 August 2024, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a state visit to Tajikistan.
As part of the state visit, on 22 August, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov and the Chairman of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the CEC of Kazakhstan and the Central Election Commission of Tajikistan.
This Memorandum provides for the exchange of experience in the preparation and conduct of elections and referendums, as well as the improvement of national electoral legislation.
On the sidelines of the state visit, on August 22, a bilateral meeting between the heads of the central electoral bodies of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan was also held. During the meeting, the prospects for further development of cooperation between the two countries in the electoral sphere were discussed.
It should be noted that the CEC of Kazakhstan, as part of long-term, systematic international cooperation, actively studies international electoral experience and practices from other countries.

Previously, the CEC of Kazakhstan has signed agreements with the central election authorities of 12 countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Jordan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
