Nurlan Abdirov held the meeting with the Head of the CIS Observer 

Mission

On 3 October, at the Central Referendum Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Chairman of the CRC Nurlan Abdirov held the meeting with the Head of the CIS Mission Observer at the Republican Referendum, the First Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Leonid Anfimov.

The Secretary of the Central Referendum Commission Mukhtar Erman and the Head of the Headquarters of the CIS Observer Mission Oleg Kuleba attended the meeting.

Nurlan Abdirov acquainted the Head of the Mission with the preparations for the Republican Referendum scheduled for 6 October and informed about the key stages of the campaign, as well as the accreditation results of international observers.

The CRC Chairman expressed gratitude to the CIS Executive Committee for the constant participation in the observation of electoral campaigns in the country and emphasized that the participation of international observers increases public confidence in the upcoming plebiscite. Worth noting that, 74 observers from the CIS Mission will participate in the upcoming referendum. 

The Central Referendum Commission has been carrying out the final activities for the preparation and conducting of the voting day. The territorial commissions are ready to ensure the openness of electoral procedures and compliance with the referendum legislation.

Leonid Anfimov informed about the activities of the CIS Observer Mission and expressed gratitude for creating conditions for their effective activities in Kazakhstan. He stressed that the Mission will assess the referendum for compliance with universally recognized democratic principles and the national legislation. The Mission will announce its assessment in the statement agreed with all coordinators from CIS countries on the day after the voting day.
