The CRC conducted the meetings with international observers
On 5 October, the Central Referendum Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted the meeting with the accredited observers representing the central electoral bodies of foreign countries, including three chairs of the central electoral bodies.
In the first half of the day, the Chairman of the Central Referendum Commission Nurlan Abdirov met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev and the Chairman of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoerzoda, who are participating in the international observation of the referendum in Kazakhstan.
The cooperation of the CRC RK with the CEC of Uzbekistan and the CCER of Tajikistan is carried out within the framework of the Memoranda of Understanding signed in 2023 and 2024.
During the meetings, Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev confirmed an earlier invitation sent to Kazakh colleagues to visit Uzbekistan for observation of the parliamentary elections and elections of deputies to local kengashi (councils), which will be conducted on 27 October this year.
After the meeting with his Tajik colleagues, Nurlan Abdirov presented to Bakhtiyor Khudoyerzoda the institutional medal “For Contribution to the Development of the Electoral Bodies System”. Further, the Chairman of the CCER of Tajikistan made a speech at the briefing for media.
In the afternoon, the Chairman of the CRC RK met with the Secretary of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Natalia Budarina. During the conversation, they discussed issues of mutual cooperation and exchange of experience on the organization of elections.
Further, the Chairman of the CRC RK met with the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Koichukeyev. During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and exchange of experience in the electoral sphere and expressed mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations in the given area.
After that, Nurlan Abdirov held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Oleg Kopylov and emphasized that Kazakhstan representatives regularly participate in the international election observation in other countries as part of the SCO Missions.
The Deputy Chairman of the CRC Konstantin Petrov and the Secretary of the CRC Mukhtar Erman conducted the briefing for the representatives of foreign media accredited for the period of the republican referendum.
At the meetings and briefing, the observers from foreign countries and international organizations, the representatives of foreign media were informed in detail about the preparation and conduct of the upcoming Republican Referendum on 6 October and the readiness of polling stations for the voting day. The CRC representatives answered to the questions of the meetings participants about the organization and conduct of the referendum, terms and procedure of summing up its results.
In the meeting with the international observers, the CRC Chairman emphasized that the participation of foreign observers in the referendum has significant importance for Kazakhstan. It demonstrates not only the transparency and openness of the process, but also serves as an important signal of our country's commitment to the democratic development.
In turn, the foreign guests underlined that ahead of the Referendum there is a peaceful and friendly atmosphere in Kazakhstan. They noted the high professionalism of the campaign organizers and expressed gratitude for creation of the necessary conditions for effective observation of the referendum.
